Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Do I need to have experience in pointe work?

For the Advanced Division, prior experience in pointe work is required. For the Intermediate Division, dancers may begin working on pointe at the barre, with gradual progression throughout the intensive.

2. What days will the performances take place?

The final performance will take place at the end of the intensive. For specific performance dates and schedule details, please visit: www.irinalerman.com/schedule.

3. What happens if I miss a class?

We do not offer reimbursements for missed classes. However, if you inform us of your schedule in advance, we will do our best to create a customized class plan that accommodates your availability.

4. Is there an audition process?

Yes. All students are required to submit a formal audition as part of the registration process. Dancers must have at least three years of dance experience to be eligible. During registration, you will be asked to upload a video from a class or performance for evaluation. This allows us to place you in the most suitable group. Register here: www.irinalerman.com/Registration

5. What ages is the program intended for?

Our program is organized by experience level, not by age. We welcome dancers of all ages starting from 11 years old, provided they meet the required technical criteria for their selected division.

6. Are performances available for all participants?

Performances are open to dancers who register for at least a one-week package (minimum half-week attendance). Students with shorter or drop-in packages may not be eligible to participate in the final performance.

7. When is the last day to register?

We highly recommend registering as early as possible, as spaces are limited. Last year, we reached full capacity and had to close drop-in options. To secure your spot, please register early through: www.irinalerman.com/Registration.

8. Is accommodation available for students traveling from outside the area?

While we do not provide on-site accommodation, we are happy to assist you in finding a comfortable and convenient place to stay during the intensive.
If you are traveling from afar, please contact us after registration, and we will provide recommendations to help you arrange your stay.

9. What is the required attire for the intensive?

We require professional ballet attire for most classes, including ballet, character, and neoclassical creation sessions.

  • Required attire: Ballet leotards, tights, shorts or skirts.
(Since the choreography is classical-based, clean lines are very important.)

  • For character classes, girls are encouraged to wear a knee-length character skirt.

  • For some contemporary classes, dancers may wear pants and socks for greater comfort and freedom of movement.

Please ensure your attire is appropriate for each style to support your technique and presentation.
